This exquisite early 1940s evening gown from the renowned designer Emma Domb is a work of art.
In an exquisite yellow chartreuse, and boasting the label of her illustrious 'Party Line' collection, the dress features an alice shape collar with a button fastening and a bewitching keyhole adornment at the neck.

Ten further decorative buttons down the bodice, which gracefully dives into a subtle V at the waist, further embellish the garment's beauty, while a side placed lapped metal zipper and an oversized statement bow to the back add a refined touch. The heavy weight charmeuse satin fabric is of the utmost quality, imbuing the dress with effortless drape. Perfect for parties yet luxurious enough to be saved for special occasions. Old Hollywood Drama!

Condition

Following our shoot of this dress, we noticed some rusting to the rear of the buttons. Noting the risk of harm to the fabric, our in-house tailors opted to remove the original metal-backed buttons and replace them with cut glass crystal buttons of the same size from the same era, preserving the dress's astute aesthetic. The new buttons can be seen in the detail photographs. This gown remains in a truly magnificent condition.
