1960s Silk Dupion Beaded Shirt Dress and Matching Coat
This sensational designer set is a very high quality piece. Crafted from hot pink dupion silk, each piece boasts gorgeous soustache detailing that's hand-stitched with golden thread for added sparkle.
The dress is sleeveless, with the detailing on the neck mirrored in a larger wide panel bordering the dress. Both feature faceted hot pink beads that are perfectly placed for a nod to the Indian-inspired designs of the 1960s. The dress is lined with a back metal zip, while the coat has a rounded collar and two metal hook-and-eye closures at the neck. The sleeves are three-quarter length with the same beautiful soustache detailing. It's the perfect set for a special event!
Note Of Interest
This ensemble was part of a collection from a lady who had a great deal of couture garments from designers like John Charles, Jean Allen, Yves Saint Laurent. Whilst this set has no identifying labels, it is of equal quality and designer level of other pieces from the same estate and has all the hallmarks of an original John Charles set from this period by designer, Cherry Price.
Condition
Excellent condition, no flaws or issues of note.
