Fabulous little black dress from Liza Peta, circa 1977, but would easily take you into an early 1980s look if desired. We actually think this has a pretty timeless silhouette and makes for a perfect LBD for any era - just change up the styling and accessories!

The base of the dress is a black stretch fabric with a pencil shape skirt.  There is stretch in the bodice and the skirt, but the waist is a fixed measurement due to the stitching of the top layer of fabric.  This black overlay fabric is lightweight and floaty with a red foil heart print throughout. Over the bodice it has the same foil print and also stunning pleating detail to the shoulder that plunges to the waist line. The skirt overlay is split at centre front, back, and both sides making 4 panels that move beautifully - especially when dancing. There is a zip and hook & eye fastening to the back.

Liza Peta was founded in 1960 in Essex and all their clothing was made in the UK and the first showroom on Great Portland Street in London. They expanded over the next two decades and added in a Petite and Plus size range into their offerings.  They were known for quality garments at an upper midrange price bracket. Interestingly, the name came from combining the names of the children of the two original company directors.
