Circa 1960s

A zesty 1960s cotton stripe day dress in sunshiny, citrus colours. This simple, easy-to-wear frock was handmade to an excellent standard, with some nice details. It has a flattering cut, with two waist and two bust darts to front bodice and two small darts to the back bodice. We love the turn up housewife cuffs on the short sleeves. She closes with 5 brass-tone buttons to front plus a press stud fastening at the top and bottom.

CONDITION

We'd describe this as just fair/good condition. Colours are still great: the cotton fabric is very soft, and been washed and handled with love over the years, probably a favourite! The waistline has had some clumsy alterations in the past (probably a victim of a costume dept at some point) - our seamstresses have returned this to its original order, but there are faint stitch markings on the fabric at the waistline. This is entirely hidden by the belt. Belt shown is models own and does not come with dress, but dress does come with its original co-ordinating stripe belt.
