1960s Hot Pink Lace & Organza Chiffon Prom Dress

Circa Early 1960s

A hot pink prom dress for the life of the party! This lady is from that magical time period when the classic floof of the fifties was slowly easing into the casual swing of the sixties. The result is pure candy confection, and a dress that will make you smile.

While that fab cerise colour will stop you in your tracks, its the textures that really make this frock special. It's sheer at the top, with a high round neck and no sleeves: just the faintest elegant overhang at the shoulders. The bust and bodice are clad in lovely, Chantilly-inspired lace, dropping into a swinging knife-pleated skirt. In some photos, we've styled it with a fluffy petticoat (not included) to show off the fullness of the skirt: we think it's lovely both ways, but if you want to add a petticoat to your order, just message us and we'll make it happen!

The dress is fully lined with taffeta to give it body and presence, with the floaty chiffon and lace layers adding romance. It closes with a back lapped metal zipper.
